Can I reconnect a channel without losing historical data?
Learn whether reconnecting a channel in MerchantSpring affects historical reporting data.
Yes. Reconnecting a channel in MerchantSpring does not delete or remove historical data from your reports.
When a connection is reauthorized, MerchantSpring simply restores access to the marketplace APIs so that new data can continue syncing.
Your existing reports, analytics, and historical metrics remain intact.
Why Channels May Need Reconnection
Channels may require reconnection due to:
- expired authentication tokens
- permission changes within the marketplace account
- security updates or password changes
- revoked API authorization
Reconnection restores MerchantSpring’s ability to retrieve new data.
What Happens When a Channel Is Reconnected
After reconnection:
- MerchantSpring re-establishes API authentication
- The platform resumes scheduled data syncing
- Any missing data may be retrieved through a backfill process
Historical reporting remains unchanged.
Steps to Reconnect a Channel
- Navigate to Settings → Channels
- Locate the disconnected channel
- Click Reconnect
- Complete the marketplace authentication process
- Confirm permissions
Once completed, the channel will resume syncing.
Notes:
- Historical reports are stored in MerchantSpring and are not deleted during reconnection.
- Data may take time to refresh after reconnection.
- Advertising integrations may require separate reauthorization.
