Is API data different from the data in MerchantSpring?
Learn how the MerchantSpring platform and API use the same underlying processed data while offering different ways to access it.
Where the same dataset is available, the MerchantSpring platform and API read from the same processed data layer. Using the API does not make the underlying marketplace data refresh faster or provide a separate version of the data.

MerchantSpring's UI and API routes use the same processed data layer.
Is one method more up to date? No. Data is first retrieved from the source marketplace and processed by MerchantSpring. Once it is available, it can be accessed through the supported MerchantSpring interface or API endpoint.
Why can the available data differ? The platform contains ready-made reports and workflows, while each external API endpoint must be developed separately. A report or field may therefore be visible in MerchantSpring before an equivalent public endpoint is available.
Why can a result still look different?- The platform may apply a predefined visualisation or report layout
- An API application may apply its own calculations, labels or presentation
- Different date ranges, intervals or filters may have been selected
- An AI tool may interpret or summarise the API response differently
When checking a difference, confirm the account, channels, marketplaces, date range, interval, filters and comparison period are the same in both requests.
