How are MerchantSpring API calls counted?

Learn what counts as one API call and why report-generation workflows may use several requests.

Each request sent to the MerchantSpring API Gateway counts as one API call. The number of supported filters included in that request does not create a separate call for each filter.

What counts as one call?
  • Retrieving a list of connected channels: one call
  • Requesting data with several supported marketplace or country filters: one call
  • Checking the status of a generated report: one call each time you check
  • Retrieving a completed asynchronous report: one call
Why do asynchronous reports use more calls?

A typical asynchronous workflow includes one call to generate the report, at least one call to check its status and one call to retrieve it. Additional polling while the report is processing adds more calls.

Does MCP also use API calls?

Yes. When the MerchantSpring MCP connector retrieves account data, it calls the MerchantSpring API Gateway and uses the applicable API allowance.

Where can I review my usage?

If API access is enabled for your user, open MerchantSpring and go to My Account > API > API Key to review the usage information available for your account.
