What happens if a user disconnects a channel accidentally?
Learn what happens if a channel is accidentally disconnected in MerchantSpring and how to restore data syncing.
If a channel is accidentally disconnected from MerchantSpring, the platform will temporarily stop retrieving new data from that marketplace.
However, existing historical data remains available in your reports, and the channel can be reconnected at any time.
Once reconnected, MerchantSpring will resume syncing new data and may retrieve any data that was missed while the channel was disconnected.
What Happens Immediately After Disconnection
When a channel is disconnected:
- MerchantSpring loses API access to the marketplace
- Data syncing pauses
- Reports stop receiving new updates
Historical reports remain visible.
Restoring the Connection
To restore the channel connection:
- Navigate to Settings → Channels
- Locate the disconnected marketplace
- Click Reconnect
- Complete the marketplace authorization process
- Confirm the requested permissions
Once the connection is restored, MerchantSpring will resume retrieving data.
What Happens After Reconnection
After reconnection:
- Data syncing resumes
- MerchantSpring may retrieve missing data
- Reports will update automatically during the next sync cycle
The time required for data to catch up depends on the amount of activity that occurred during the disconnection.
Notes:
- Accidental disconnections do not erase historical reports.
- Reconnecting the channel typically restores normal operation.
- It may take some time for reports to fully update after reconnection.
