What specific differences is MerchantSpring detecting in Image Change Alerts?
In most cases, MerchantSpring is detecting a change in the underlying image file name or URL. Even if the image looks visually identical — or is in fact the same image — Amazon may store it as a different file with a different URL (for example, if someone re-uploads the same image).
Because we monitor the actual file reference (not just a visual comparison), any change to the file name or URL is detected as a content change. This ensures we capture all catalog-level updates that may affect what consumers see.
