Where does MerchantSpring get the “Expected Images” from in the Image Change Alerts?

MerchantSpring pulls image data from the Amazon Catalog API — specifically from the catalog view.

Our focus is on understanding what consumers actually see on the live Amazon detail page and detecting changes relative to that view.

We do not source content from a brand owner’s backend (e.g., Seller Central or Vendor Central uploads). Instead, we monitor the live Amazon catalog, which may include contributions from multiple sources, including other sellers.

This means the “expected images” reflect the catalog-level data that Amazon is currently displaying to shoppers — not necessarily only what the brand owner has uploaded in their backend.
