Why is my Amazon data delayed or missing in MerchantSpring reports?

Understand why Amazon data may appear delayed or missing in MerchantSpring reports and how MerchantSpring syncs marketplace data.

MerchantSpring relies on Amazon’s APIs to retrieve sales, financial, and advertising data. Because of this dependency, there are situations where data may appear delayed, incomplete, or temporarily missing in MerchantSpring reports.

In most cases, these delays are caused by the timing of Amazon’s data availability rather than an issue within MerchantSpring.

Common Causes of Data Delays

1. Amazon Data Processing Delays

Amazon does not always publish transaction data immediately.

Certain datasets—especially financial events—may take 24–48 hours to be finalized and released through Amazon’s APIs.

Examples include:

  • Refunds
  • Adjustments
  • Fee corrections
  • Settlement postings

Until Amazon publishes this data, MerchantSpring cannot retrieve it.

2. Advertising Data Latency

Advertising metrics often appear later than sales data.

Amazon Advertising APIs can have delays of 12–24 hours before metrics such as:

  • Spend
  • Clicks
  • Impressions
  • Attributed sales

become available.

3. API Rate Limits

Amazon enforces strict API usage limits. If these limits are reached, MerchantSpring must queue requests until new API capacity becomes available.

This can temporarily slow data refresh times.

4. Newly Connected Accounts

If you recently connected your Amazon account, MerchantSpring may still be performing the initial historical sync.

During this process, some reports may temporarily show incomplete data.

5. Connection or Permission Issues

If the authentication token for your Amazon account expires or permissions change, MerchantSpring may temporarily lose access to retrieve data.

Steps to Check Your Channel Connection

  1. Navigate to Settings → Channels
  2. Locate your Amazon channel
  3. Confirm the status shows Connected
  4. If needed, select Reconnect and complete the authorization process again

Notes:

  • Financial data typically lags behind sales data.
  • Advertising metrics may be delayed by up to 24 hours.
  • Large accounts may experience slightly longer sync times due to API request volume.
  • Temporary delays are normal during peak marketplace activity periods.

Troubleshooting

If data appears missing:

  • Wait 24 hours to allow Amazon to publish the data
  • Refresh your reports
  • Confirm the channel connection is active
