Why is Shipped Revenue delayed compared to Ordered Revenue?

Learn why Shipped Revenue is typically available later than Ordered Revenue and how Amazon’s reporting timelines affect data availability.

If your Shipped Revenue appears to be a few days behind while Ordered Revenue is up to date, this is expected behaviour and does not indicate a syncing issue.

MerchantSpring continuously syncs data from Amazon as it becomes available. Once any syncing incidents are resolved, your channels will continue updating normally.

Why is Shipped Revenue delayed?

Shipped Revenue is sourced from Amazon’s Vendor Sales Report through the Selling Partner API (SP-API).

Amazon’s documented Service Level Agreement (SLA) states that Vendor Sales Report data becomes available up to 72 hours after the close of each reporting day. Amazon’s reporting day is based on Pacific Time (PT), which may add several additional hours depending on your marketplace’s time zone.

As a result, a delay of approximately three days for Shipped Revenue is expected.

Why is Ordered Revenue more up to date?

Ordered Revenue is sourced differently.

MerchantSpring supplements Amazon’s standard reporting by using the Rapid Retail Analytics (RRA) Sales Report, which is updated hourly and typically becomes available within minutes after each hour closes.

This allows Ordered Revenue and Ordered Units to appear much sooner than Shipped Revenue.

Why can’t MerchantSpring make Shipped Revenue more current?

Amazon does not currently provide a near-real-time equivalent of the Vendor Sales Report for shipped metrics.

MerchantSpring retrieves the most up-to-date data that Amazon makes available through its APIs. If Amazon introduces a faster reporting source for Shipped Revenue in the future, MerchantSpring will support it as soon as it becomes available.
