Why might advertising data stop updating?
Learn why Amazon advertising data may stop updating in MerchantSpring and how to restore reporting.
If advertising data stops updating in MerchantSpring, it typically indicates that the platform is temporarily unable to retrieve campaign data from Amazon Advertising APIs.
This can occur due to authentication issues, reporting delays, or API restrictions.
In most cases, the issue can be resolved by verifying the advertising integration.
Common Causes of Advertising Data Sync Issues
-
Expired Advertising Authorization
Advertising integrations may require periodic reauthorization. If the authorization expires, MerchantSpring will no longer be able to access campaign performance data.
-
Amazon API Delays
Amazon may delay publishing advertising metrics during high activity periods or system updates.
When this occurs, campaign data may temporarily appear outdated.
-
API Rate Limits
Amazon limits the number of API requests that can be made within a specific time period. When limits are reached, additional requests may pause until capacity resets.
-
Account Permission Changes
Changes to advertising account permissions may prevent MerchantSpring from accessing campaign data.
Steps to Restore Advertising Data
- Navigate to Settings → Channels
- Locate the Amazon advertising connection
- Verify that the connection status shows Connected
- If necessary, select Reconnect Advertising
- Complete the authorization process
Once the connection is restored, data syncing should resume during the next update cycle.
Notes:
- Advertising data may take several hours to refresh after reconnection.
- Campaign attribution windows may delay some metrics.
- Minor delays are normal during high marketplace activity.
